Imogen Taylor is a New Zealand contemporary artist known for her vibrant, expressive paintings that blend abstraction, modernist influences, and queer theory.

Born in Whangārei in 1985, Taylor studied at the Elam School of Fine Arts at the University of Auckland, graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2007 and a Postgraduate Diploma in Fine Arts in 2010.

Her work explores the history of painting through bold colour, fractured forms, layered textures, and references to movements such as Cubism and Orphism, while challenging traditional ideas around gender and identity. Taylor has exhibited extensively throughout Aotearoa and internationally.

Taylor currently lives and works in London, England with her partner Alice Snedden and their dog, Dusty. Taylor suffers from eczema.
